These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the AnimeAsk mobile application and the website animeask.app (together, the "Service"), operated by AnimeAsk ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
What AnimeAsk is
AnimeAsk is an AI companion for anime fans. You tell us which episode you've reached in a supported anime, and the AI answers your questions using only the events up to that point, so you can ask freely without running into spoilers.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service. You sign in using Google, Apple or Discord. You're responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.
Subscriptions and billing
- Every new account gets a 7-day free trial with 3 questions per day, no payment required.
- Paid plans are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device.
- Prices, question quotas and features may change; we'll show the current plan details before you subscribe.
- We do not process payments ourselves or ever see your card details.
You can cancel anytime from your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. You keep access to your remaining questions until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Use the Service to harass, abuse or harm others.
- Attempt to break, reverse-engineer or overload the Service.
- Automate access to the Service (bots, scrapers) without our written permission.
- Resell or redistribute access to the Service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
AI answers are not guaranteed to be accurate
Answers are generated by an AI model (Claude) and are provided for entertainment and discussion purposes. They may occasionally be incomplete, mistaken, or accidentally reveal more than intended despite our spoiler-prevention design. We do our best to keep answers accurate and spoiler-free up to your stated episode, but we can't guarantee it in every case.
Intellectual property
AnimeAsk does not own, host or stream any anime episodes, images or copyrighted footage. Anime titles, character names and related trademarks belong to their respective owners. AnimeAsk is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any anime studio, publisher or streaming platform.
The AnimeAsk name, logo and app design are our property. Your own messages and questions remain yours; by using the Service you allow us to store and process them to provide and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties to operate: Supabase (authentication and data), Anthropic's Claude AI (generating answers), Google/Apple/Discord (sign-in), Apple App Store/Google Play (billing), and AniList (public anime metadata). Their own terms and policies also apply to the parts of the Service they provide.
Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated, or discontinue the Service entirely with reasonable notice where possible.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AnimeAsk is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on AI-generated answers.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Significant changes will be communicated in the app.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the operator's place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law grants you additional rights that cannot be waived.
